I’m originally from southern California, growing up just a couple miles from the beach. Shortly after graduating from university, I traveled to Loei, Thailand for two years to volunteer as an English teacher with the U.S. Peace Corps. Not long after returning to California, I met and married a wonderful Swiss man, packed up my belongings, and have lived in Switzerland ever since. I work as a freelancer in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry and write fiction, non-fiction, flash fiction, short stories, poetry…and everything in-between…every chance I get.
I’m extremely honored that my first book “Swisstory: The Untold, Bloody, and Absolutely Real History of Switzerland” won the 2020 SCBWI Crystal Kite Award.
My second book “50 Amazing Swiss Women: True Stories You Should Know About” was a collaboration with four talented authors and one incredible illustrator. It was released on 7 February 2021 to coincide with the 50-year anniversary of Swiss women’s right to vote.
In between all of the above (and during a historic pandemic), I had the pleasure of co-authoring four picture books titled A Monster’s Guide to Life…In a Pandemic, which feature adorable little monsters learning the importance of hygiene, physical distancing, and especially patience during unprecedented times.
More books are on the way!
